Titan Company Ltd, Indian watches, accessories and jewellery manufacturers
has launched touch-enabled watches branded SF under Sonata aimed for attracting
the youth and adventure enthusiasts.
Titan's watches and accessories CEO Ravi Kant said “The adventure space in India is fast-growing but has been largely untapped, especially in the watches category. There is no brand operating, we have identified this vacuum and launched SF by Sonata."
As per him, SF sub-brand is the upgraded version of Super Fibre range of watches presented by Sonata for adventure loving male in the age group of 15-26 years.
These watches can be handled just like a cell phone by sliding it in all four directions. It is featured with dual time, water resistance, EL backlight, countdown timer, alarm, stopwatch, chime and a 100 year calendar.
These digital sport watches offers multiple functions and they have been designed to provide accessibility by touching and swiping the screen. The company’s touch watch prices between Rs.1,799 and Rs.2,899 offered in 13 variants.
Moreover, these watches do not support a few of modern features like GPS, compass and altimeter. While the company has manufactured these watches with their foreign partner in China and Hongkong.
Kant further added that "Sonata brand launched by the Titan Company in 1997 clocked annual sales of 4.6 million watches in 2014 out of which one million were Super Fibre range of watches."
As per news the company is also working on a new smart that is expected to be launched in market very soon. These watches are available at 8,000 local retailer outlets across the country in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Noida etc.
